Nike Kobe 8 "Playoffs"

Nike has just announced that official release date of the new Nike Kobe 8 "Playoffs". Set for May 11th the shoe could not have been timed better due to the Lakers new emergence into the NBA playoffs after a entire season of debate of whether or not they would make it there. Well the Lakers made it, largely due the efforts of the man this shoe is named after.

Feast your eyes on the all-purple upper sports a light-to-dark gradient fade, with black on the liner, heel and speckled midsole, and contrast grey on the outsole and Swoosh.

Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Black/Metallic Gold

Its throwback sneaker time! This shoe is the reach back in to the past and always seems to sell out no matter what new color scheme is add to this shoe. This shoe was first marketed in 1985 in the original color ways of Black and Red to be worn by Michael Jordan when playing for the bulls. This is the shoe that kicked off the legendary shoe campaign that we know of as Air Jordan. For those who are unaware, these shoes were quickly banned from on-court usage by the NBA commissioner because the shoes lacked the color white which was still a major color in the Chicago Bulls color theme. Jordan would then wear the shoes any way (because they were his) and be fined $5,000 for every game he played with them on. Nike then used this as a marketing ploy to say the shoes gave unnatural or unfair playing ability to the wearer and that’s why they were banned. This marketing plan worked like a charm do to Jordan’s overall dominance in the game and created the belief that Nike Air Jordan shoes made you play better (this also justified the raising of the price to extreme levels such as $200 per shoe). This is why everyone who played basketball wanted a pair of Jordan shoes and thus the popularity began.

Without further delay, let us continue to the examination the new Air Jordan’s. These Air Jordans feature black patent leather on the upper portion of the shoe, the gold Nike swoosh and the white bottom midsole for contrasting effects. The shoe also features the “Nike Air” tongue logo, not the Jordan logo you find on recent models.

Smooth simple and classic, just how I like it.

Release date is set for April 13, 2013 and the starting price of $140.

Nike HyperFlight Galaxy

Possibly the most looked forward to shoe this year so outside of the Jordan 11 [BRED] release last month. Personally I past my Jordan phase in high school, therefore this release was the one was truly looking forward to seeing these shoes. I really just wanted the see what crazy idea the Nike designers would put together on shoes in which the color scheme was "Galaxy". Not to mention the slick design of the shoe. The Nike HyperFlight series is normally something sneaker heads look forward to. Just the natural slick design of the past shoes (I do own a pair not to brag but to just to state as a fact) is something to look at on you wall or on your feet as you are jumping over defenders for the windmill finish. At least the defender will be able to look upward only to realize that adding to his embarrassment your shoes look better than his do. In addition to the greatness of the Nike Zoom HyperFlight "Galaxy" there are two more!

The Galaxy is inspired by NBA all-star Lebron James. The color is suppose to represent diamond hard toughness. But it doesn't matter just look at it! They released earlier today, asking price is$150.

Nike Air Foamposite "Fighter Jet"

Well if you’re in to buying the new Nikes then I’m sure you recognize these shoes. Practically everywhere you go (in the right crowd of course) you are bound to see multiple people with a form of Nike Foamposite. Nike has devoted considerable effort into the new and groundbreaking designs of the Nike Foamposite line.

The newest member of the Foamposite shoe line is the Nike Air Foamposite “Fighter Jet”. This shoe has the same basic features of the Nike Foamposite because the additions are design features. The Nike Air Foamposite “Fighter Jet” has a stand out black, white and grey military camouflage that covers most of the shoe with the Nike Foamposite ice colored bottoms.  In order to prevent a boring white, black and grey look Nike has added red accents to the shoe to finish the look. The red accents are given to the Nike swoosh (Nike’s company logo, sometimes referred to as a check), shoe sole highlights, checkerboard style outstep, and the shoes’ incorporated military accents. The shoes’ military accents include “NO STEP” and “DANGER” add-ons that you might find labeled on some military equipment and vehicles.  Yes, these shoes come featured with their own set of dog tags to further enhance the military inspired design. These shoes are newly released and are starting at the price of $235.00 and will like increase the longer you wait the purchase the shoe. Grab your while you can!

Nike Air Zoom Turf Jet 97

Nike Air Zoom Turf Jet 97

January 2013 saw the release of many new Nike basketball shoes but few caught my attention like these. Nike released their new Nike Air Zoom Turf Jet 97 training shoe base off an old school version of a turf training shoe in 1997. These shoes feature two majority colors while adding a small touch of a third color that provide a solid look of completion on the shoe.

After the shoes initial release in the white, black, and copper color, we have seen an onslaught of new innovative colors that have gained the shoe quite a lot of popularity. The Nike Air Zoom Turf Jet 97 “copper metal” features predominantly white and grey colors and a copper colored accent to add color. I believe this slight but noticeable splash of color provides a classy or more elegant appeal then other shoes that may overdue the copper color.

Nike than released the Nike Air Zoom Turf Jet 97 “Oregon edition” (I want a pair) which features a black and gold color scheme. The Nike Air Zoom Turf Jet 97 “Oregon edition” boosts a smooth reserved black appeal boasted by the addition of nubuck (a material similar to suede, only better suited for shoe wear and tear) on the top of the shoe that replaced the traditional leather. The Nike Air Zoom Turf Jet 97 “Oregon edition” also features a gold metal accent piece that fades into the signature University of Oregon yellow. Also in homage to the University of Oregon the shoe bares the Oregon logo on the tongue and inside the shoe. I really would like a pair of these shoes so if you see me walking down your street in these shoes don’t be surprised.

Lastly the Nike Air Zoom Turf Jet 97 “Stealth” is a black, grey and purple variation of the shoe. These feature lots of grey rubber, black, and mean streak of “club purple” to complete the shoe. In hindsight this shoe line is not bad Nike and I can’t wait to see if anymore bold colors or themes of the Nike Air Zoom Turf Jet 97 will reach the American stores.

Converse Allstar Chuck Taylor

The Converse Chuck Taylor tennis shoe is simply becomes a cultural impact with its influence in the world of shoes. The Converse Chuck Taylor (nick named Chucks) inspired many spin offs of its basic designed that proved so reliable and simple to replicate.

The original shoe was a basketball shoe released in 1921 to be worn by basketball players. The shoe was then endorsed by popular basketball star Chuck Taylor. The shoe was then worn in the Olympics and again by the soldiers in the Second World War, expanding is popularity overseas and reaching new audience not before reach by a basketball shoe. However the Converse Chuck Taylor should never be just limited to a basketball shoe because is impact was felt of many other realms of the shoe world. Chuck Taylors became a fashion statement with the massive variation of colors and styles made this shoe ideal for everyone. It didn’t matter if you customized your Chuck Taylors with rhinestones, the nearest Sharpe marker, paint or stickers because they were yours and you can do anything to these shoes and have them look good. Didn’t matter if your Chucks were low top, high top, thigh high, calf high or high heeled these shoes did exactly what you need it to do, look good. Matching all types of styles, this shoe can be called “old faithful”.
Now tell me who has not owned a pair of these?
